Daisydisk Scan Grey Folder On Mac
DaisyDisk is a paid disk space analyzer for macOS. It displays a sunburst diagram of files on a hard drive to help with the location or deletion of large files. It can display previews of files using Quick Look. It also allows the user to look at the file directly in Finder, in order to delete it or move it elsewhere.
This feature is not available in the Mac App Store version of DaisyDisk.
In certain cases you may not be able to examine some folders, because you don’t have sufficient access permissions. For example, folders of other local users are normally not accessible, even when you are logged in as an administrator.
In such cases you can scan the target as administrator.
Just select the corresponding command from the disk’s or folder’s drop-down menu
and enter the administrator’s password.

When you scan the current disk or folder as administrator, its background turns purple, so you don’t have to remember which disks are scanned as administrator and which are not.
It’s not necessary to scan disks as administrator every time unless you have multiple user accounts or large folders that require administrator access permissions. It’s generally a good idea to scan disks as normal user unless scan results reveal significant amounts of hidden disk space.
Scanning as administrator only works on local HFS+ volumes.
